Your child has been evaluated in the Olive View-UCLA Emergency Department today for ankle pain. The x-ray of his ankle did not show any evidence of a fracture.
Please rest, ice, and elevate his/her foot to control pain and inflammation. Please alternate giving your child tylenol/motrin as directed in the attached dosing instructions for discomfort.
Please follow up with your pediatrician as needed. If you do not have a Pediatrician, you can walk into the pediatric clinic on the scheduled clinic days to establish a doctor for you child. Please call (818) 364-3141 if you have any problems finding the clinic.
Please follow up with a pediatric orthopedic surgeon in about 1 week. You can find a pediatric orthopedic surgeon at Olive View-UCLA by through your pediatrician
Return to the Emergency Department if your child experiences worsening pain, numbness/tingling, change of color in his toes, or any other concerning symptoms.
